300 gripna i räder världen över – fruktade gänget finns i Sverige

Operation Jackal III, som den kallas, pågick från 10 april till 3 juli i 21 länder på fem kontinenter i världen. Insatsen riktade in sig på finansiella bedrägerier online och de västafrikanska syndikaten bakom det.

Insatsen resulterade i cirka 300 arresteringar, identifiering av över 400 ytterligare misstänkta och blockering av mer än 720 bankkonton. Riktades mot nigerianska Black Axe Ett av operationens mål var det organiserade kriminella nätverket Black Axe, som grundades i Nigeria. Nätverket bedriver narkotikasmuggling, cyberbedrägerier och människohandel världen över – även i Sverige. Efter en fem år lång utredning har nu polis i Argentina beslagtagit 1,2 miljoner dollar i falska sedlar, arresterat 72 misstänkta och fryst cirka 100 bankkonton kopplat till Black Axe. Ett annat av måltavlorna var ett nigerianskt nätverk som ägnade sig åt pengatvätt från offer för finansiella bedrägerier online över hela Europa. Den portugisiska kriminalpolisen kunde genom denna operation avveckla nätverket helt. Interpol: ”Alarmerande” ”Mängden finansiella bedrägerier som härrör från Västafrika är alarmerande och ökar. Resultatet av denna operation understryker det kritiska behovet av internationellt brottsbekämpande samarbete för att bekämpa dessa omfattande kriminella nätverk”, säger Isaac Oginni, chef för Interpols centrum för finansiell brottslighet och anti-korruption (IFCACC) i ett uttalande. Interpol lyfter att följande länder samarbetade i operationen: Argentina, Australien, Brasilien, Kanada, Elfenbenskusten, Frankrike, Tyskland, Indonesien, Irland, Italien, Japan, Malaysia, Nederländerna, Nigeria , Portugal, Sydafrika, Spanien, Sverige, Schweiz, Storbritannien och USA.

164 länder har granskats i den nya rapporten från organisationen Oxfam. Sverige har tappat 14 placeringar och ligger nu på en 24:e plats. – Jag tror att många fortfarande ser Sverige som ett av världens mest jämlika länder, men det är vi inte. Vi är sämst i Norden på att hantera ekonomisk ojämlikhet och vi faller också i rankingen jämfört med andra europeiska länder, säger Suzanne Standfast, generalsekreterare på Oxfam. Färre resurser in i välfärden Det är den förda politiken som får klyftorna att öka enligt rapporten. Rapporten visar också att det bland annat handlar om sänkt marginalskatt och sedan tidigare slopad arvsskatt och förmögenhetsskatt. – Det vi ser är framförallt förändringar i skatteområdet som har gjort att vi har fortsatt rasa i den här rankingen. Det här indexet mäter effekterna av decennier av skattepolitik i Sverige och det här är något som alla partier, i alla färger har bidragit till, säger Suzanne Standfast. – Vi slopade förmögenhetsskatten, arvskatten, gåvoskatten och värnskatten. Så det blir färre resurser in i välfärden, fortsätter Suzanne. Anders Pihlblad: Hur kan till exempel slopande av arvskatt påverka de här siffrorna? – Det är totalen vi tittar på. Minskade skatteintäkter leder till mindre resurser för välfärden och skapar en stor klyfta mellan de som har stora förmögenheter och de som inte har det, säger generalsekreteraren på Oxfam. Kunskap om tillgångar och skulder saknas För att komma till bukt med problemet behövs kunskap – något som är svårare att få tag i sedan förmögenhetsskatten slopades 2007. – Samtidigt försvann också det register som fanns över förmögenhetsfördelningen. Så idag har vi inte tillräckligt med kunskap om hushållens tillgångar och skulder. Något som borde vara en absolut självklar del av den ekonomiska statistiken, säger Suzanne Standfast. – Våra politiker bör läsa den här rapporten och ta frågorna om ekonomiskt ojämlikhet i Sverige på allvar nu. Kartlägg och utred och se till att du får ordentligt grepp om hur den ser ut i Sverige, säger Suzanne Standfast. Högst rankade land i årets index är Norge följt av Kanada och Australien. På sista plats i indexet återfinns Sydsudan bakom Nigeria och Vanuatu.
