De positiva rapporterna om Gabriel Landeskogs comeback i NHL har avlöst varandra under våren och sommaren. Men någon comeback i Colorado Avalanche till seriepremiären mot Vegas Golden Knights den 9 oktober ser det inte ut att bli. Det avslöjade Avalanches general manager Kelly McCrimmon under en tv-intervju med TNT i natt, svensk tid.
Gabriel Landeskog har inte spelat en match sedan Stanley Cup-finalen 2022. Snart två år senare kommer en uppdatering om hans rehabilitering. – Det handlar om hans karriär och vi kommer inte riskera något, säger Colorado-tränaren Jared Bednar.

The more we hear about Gabriel Landeskog, the more we think the further and further into the season he will return. Because of that, should the Colorado Avalanche exploit the NHL LTIR loophole where they can leave Landeskog and not have his salary cap number count against their cap number, make some trades to bring in some help, then bring him back for the playoffs (assuming they make the playoffs) where the salary cap goes away? It might be difficult to answer that now, but if Landeskog is not ready to go by the trade deadline, it could be a very real possibility for Colorado.
