William Nylander stärkte sin ställning som vår bäste målskytt i NHL den här hösten när Toronto Maple Leafs gästade Minnesota Wild i natt. ”Nyllet” sköt sitt nionde mål i höst, men det räckte inte. Minnesota vann med 2-1 efter förlängning med Matt Boldy som segerskytt. William har gjort fyra mål på de fyra senaste omgångarna och ligger på 6:e plats i NHL:s målliga med sina nio kassar. Totalt har det blivit 13 poäng på lika många matcher för den 28-årige svensken, som ligger tvåa i Maple Leafs interna poängliga efter Mitch Marner (14 poäng).

Tränarens svar i en tv-intervju med TSN var kort: – Ja, jag använder honom inte i boxplay och nu har jag testat lite annat folk i vårt första powerplay. Men jag har inget emot att spela William, men det är lite upp till bevis för honom också. Svaret fick Berube i natt.  Nylander gjorde två mål och utnämndes till banans bäste spelare när Toronto Maple Leafs besegrade Seattle Kraken med 4–1.

På plats i Scotiabank Arena i Toronto fanns legendaren Mats Sundin.  Så ”Nyllet” bjöd på två mål och en assist och var banans bäste utespelare när Maple Leafs besegrade Tampa Bay Lightning med 5-2. – Jag gillar nyförvärven Toronto skaffade i somras och jag tror att de har en bra chans att gå långt den här säsongen, sa Mats Sundin under en tv-intervju i den andra pausen.
