Jag tycker att vi gör en riktigt dålig match utan att ta ifrån något av Malmös insats, säger tränaren Roger Rönnberg. — Jag är lite förundrad hur vi kommer ut. Det är inte första matchen som vi börjar så här slarvigt. Jag tycker inte att vi äger den koncentration man behöver för att vara effektiva i den här ligan oavsett vilka man möter, fortsätter han. Frölunda har värvat spelare som backstjärnan Henrik Tömmernes och forwarden Carl Klingberg, men Rönnberg tror att det tar ett tag för truppen att hitta kemin. — Det är ett nytt lagbygge och jag tror att det börjar formera sig i laget hur man förbereder sig inför matcher för att hitta rätt anspänningsnivå och komma ut på rätt sätt. Saknas möjligtvis Joel Lundquists ledaregenskaper? — Han har alltid varit bra på det, men nu när han inte med. Det är nytt styre där inne i laget och de behöver hitta sina roller, tror jag. Vi har bara spelat tre tävlingsmatcher och jag tror inte att de har hittat sin kommunikation, så att de kan trycka på rätt knapp. "Första är hemsk" Mot Malmö var Frölunda i ett 0–1-underläge (Lauri Pajuniemi) efter den första perioden. Då vann hemmalaget skotten med 17–5. — Första är hemsk. Då står vi och tittar på, säger Rönnberg. Jere Innala kvitterade tidigt i den andra perioden för Frölunda, men kort därefter tog Malmö återigen ledningen genom Janne Kuokkanen. I upptakten av den tredje perioden satte Linus Öberg 2–2 för Frölunda i numerärt överläge. Ett mål som tog matchen till förlängning, men väl där sköt Kuokkanen extrapoängen till skåningarna. — Vi får vara glada för en poäng i dag, säger Roger Rönnberg.

Frölunda ville ”gå en annan väg” och valde därför att inte förlänga NHL-veteranen Loui Eriksson, 37, för en ny säsong, skriver klubben på sin hemsida. – Loui kom in och gjorde ett mycket bra jobb. I slutspelet, framför allt, visade han vilken smart och rutinerad spelare han är. Vi har haft en kontinuerlig dialog med Loui, men valde en annan väg, säger sportchef Fredrik Sjöström. Eriksson själv hade gärna fortsatt en säsong till och sa till GP att han var ”jättemotiverad”.

Men det var samma visa förra året. Inför fjolårets säsongstart fick han beskedet att det inte fanns någon plats för honom, men efter halva säsongen vände Frölunda och skrev ett kontrakt.
