Thunberg blockerar oljeterminal

S15, Ep9 How To Fail: Greta Thunberg on activism, friendship and failing to be a 'normal' teenager

I'll be honest. I was intimidated by the prospect of this interview. Plus, I never believed it would *actually* happen. I was going to get to speak to arguably the most famous activist on the planet? Yeah, right. As if.But then - it happened! And Greta Thunberg - the founder of the School Strike for Climate movement who has been nominated three times for a Nobel Prize - was an absolute revelation. She is a deeply intelligent and thoughtful 19-year-old: someone who takes issues seriously but never herself. I laughed SO MUCH more than I thought I would during this conversation. And I learned a lot too - about the climate crisis, yes, but also about what drives this extraordinary young woman and what she thinks of 'failure' on a personal and a global level. We talk about her failure to be a 'normal' teenager, her failure to get politicians to act and how she copes with being trolled by Presidents. Plus what she *really* thinks of everyone from King Charles to Emmanuel Macron. And: her love of carrots.Whatever your preconceptions might be, leave them at the door. This episode will blow your mind.--The Climate Book, created by Greta Thunberg, is out tomorrow and available to order here: https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/446610/the-climate-book-by-thunberg-greta/9780241547472--How To Fail With Elizabeth Day is hosted and produced by Elizabeth Day. 321b. My Problem with Greta Thunberg's Activism: Israel & Climate Change

*This was from my YouTube livestream so is a little different in style, hope you guys like it though!* Greta Thunberg is in the news again after sharing her support for Gaza & Palestine - and not Israel. Somehow she is linking it to the climate, and I wanted to analyse the rise and rise of one of the most divisive figures on the planet. A lot of people considered Great the antisemite after her blue octopus, such as Viva Frei on his channel. But here are my thoughts. #gretathunberg #israel #gaza Learn more about your ad choices. Greta Thunberg

Activists really are at the forefront of turning passion into purpose, and this week we are joined by one of the most well-known climate justice activists on planet earth - Greta Thunberg!Greta brought climate change into mainstream consciousness in a way nobody else has and captured the hearts and minds of a generation anxious about the future of our planet, but it all started with just one girl with a hand-painted sign sat on the ground outside the Swedish Parliament.Greta talks about her life before activism, what led her initially to take action, and how realising that she was not alone in her desire to protect the planet has made her who she is today.  Greta is definitely someone who has made the thing she’s most passionate about an intrinsic part of her identity, but understandably climate activism weighs heavy sometimes, and so we also learn how she unwinds – spoiler alert, it involves knitting needles and the macarena – and her approach to hope and despair.Greta’s latest book The Climate Book is out now! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Greta Thunberg

Amol Rajan talks to 19-year-old Greta Thunberg, the climate activist who has become the unlikely voice of global youth.Thunberg isn’t a politician or a scientist, nor is she the first to campaign against climate change. However, since overcoming severe childhood depression to focus the world’s attention on the plight of the planet, the Swedish student has become a symbol for a generation which – as she puts it – is not being listened to by older people who won’t suffer the consequences of not listening. In a challenging and wide-ranging conversation, Rajan discusses with Thunberg her latest book and interrogates some of the solutions it posits, to arrest climate change. They explore green policy, climate justice, greenwashing and the role of both politics and protest in effecting change. Thunberg also shares the personal cost she has paid in being a global game-changer and offers a rare insight into the real Greta Thunberg.
